Vintage Maddux of California Glazed Ceramic Pond

Vintage Maddux of California collectible ceramic pond. This is an amazing find as it is very rare to find a Maddux of California pond by itself. They are usually sold as part of a set with ceramic flamingos that we also have many of listed in our store. The pond is a low bowl shape composed of a fine ceramic pottery base which makes this odd shaped dish that can serve as a decorative base for the collectible flamingos also produced by Maddux around the same time period. The pond has a green glaze covering the outer wall which is made with a textured wavy design that adds a unique quality to the design. The inside of the pond has a light pink glaze very similar in tone to the Maddux flamingos, many of which are listed in our store. The bottom shows the white pottery base as well as the signature "Maddux of California, Los Angeles #1024". This item measures 13" long by 6" at the widest point and stands 2" high. It is in great condition having only a small chip mark visible on the green glazed wall towards the end of the pond. Otherwise this piece is amazing and would be great to add to your collection of Maddux of California pottery flamingo collection as you really don't have a complete collection without these ponds. We also decided to list these objects separately to allow for customers to have the option of buying individual items or buying a group of them to put together. To find a pond by itself is not so easy as most people that sell them list them as part of a set with the flamingo figurals included. So this gives our shoppers the freedom to pick up exactly what they want for their collections whether that be one item or the whole lot. A great gift idea and very special as well.
